After all: fail to plan, plan to fail ~ to no avail!
I prepared what to wear several months ago: dress, check√ * jewelry, more jewelry and accessories, check√ * shoes, check√ (something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue)
Saints are special, and I like this analogy that Evie introduced to me:
They are our defense attorneys who advocate for us as we enter the stand at the gates of Heaven for GOD to judge our fate.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us.”
So then, anyone who hears these words of mine and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain poured down, the rivers flooded over, and the wind blew hard against that house. But it did not fall, because it was built on rock. But anyone who hears these words of mine and does not obey them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. I received this generous gift from my spiritual mentor in great timing: the day before my latest conference call with my professor** to practice my dissertation defense ~ in which I advanced to my first committee defense (preliminary presentation to my professors on board)! This reminds me of how the Bishop has always come through for me ~ particularly when he gave me the Holy Spirit blessing and medal right before I took my comprehensive examinations for my Master’s degree almost a decade ago!
The highlight of my stay was when I sat in my Tita Fe‘s gourmet kitchen with Mami Aya, her siblings and their spouses ~ during which my MD aunts and uncles, who included
Tita Fe & Tito Rudy (my mom’s oldest sister and her husband)
Tito Robert & Tita Yollie (my mom’s youngest brother & his wife)
each endorsed me for my PhD ~ providing their sound advice that I’ll take with me as I progress toward my doctoral dissertation defense.
Driver’s Prayer: Dear LORD, Protect me today in all my travels along the road’s way. Give Your warning signs if danger is near so that I may stop until the path is clear. Be at my window and direct me through when objects appear from out of the blue. Defend this vehicle and everyone inside, keep me always focused, be my watchful guide. Last Memorial Day🇺🇸 weekend, I longed to stay home🏡 and relax with my Double A😻 ~ to play andpray✌ ~ before teaching this summer☼ and my work trips🚘 slated for next month!
To kick it off, my bestie‘s family held Mass💒 at their new blessed 🏠home! Her always generous mom was sweet🍭 enough not just for the food🍛 that she cooked🍗 and baked🎂 for their guests, but also for sending me home with plenty of leftovers🍱 and one of the beautiful flower💐 center pieces!

… My 🐱girls🐯 and I enjoyed 🌺them, and I made the most out of my QT with my ♥cuties! K&K‘s💪 FFF book📖 (2015) cited research🔬 from 📙Journal of Evolutionary Psychology that revealed how fresh flowers🌷 provoke 🌻joy!
