So, as the AFC Champs🏆 play🏈 in the Bay🌉 today in their white, I’ll be DIY out of sight with my blue and orange spirit on bright! Rooting on this QB in SB 50! 🇺🇸
I could say my faculty of professors, but they’re on my side to succeed, so I’ll have to go with myself on my level of resilience to determine whether I stay and sustain through the game: Yours Truly vs. Yours Truly

4 NFL head coaches, including 2 Mikes ~ one (Singletary) who played for another Mike (Ditka) & the father (Buddy Ryan) of another featured coach (Rex Ryan), + another one (Sean Payton) who I actually reported on for one of my last doctoral classes
The Florida State Seminoles former coach (Bobby Bowden)
While I’m disappointed that my main NBA🏀 team, the Dallas Mavericks, aren’t advancing to Round 2 of the Playoffs, I must point out a few fun facts about the other Texas🏇 team who eliminated them…
The Houston 🚀Rockets’ D-League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley 🐍Vipers, won the 2010 NBA-DL championship🏆 under my watch!
The Vipers head coach📢 back then, Chris Finch, now is assistant coach of the Rockets!
I was a faithful ☝️fan, as you can see on the bench, backing los Vipers (check out my close-up in my black Vipers tee behind the team in ⏰seconds :32-37)!

That was a quote from a clue that appeared on today’s episode of Double Jeopardy! 📺
M is for …
March Madness * Motivational * Men’s Basketball * Magnificent Coach = Mike Krzyzewski
Coach K aims high: one and done, son! ☝️
The commentators for tonight’s close [insert here: 💅nail-biting😁, white-knuckling👊, edge-of-your-seat💺, screaming-when-you’ve-already-lost your-voice😱] NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball🏀 Championship described Coach K as magnificent.
A is for: Ability to Adapt and Adjust
These analysts also attributed this to Coach K.
Coach K now can count his NCAA championship titles on one full hand 👋
Now, more than ever, I’m confident that I chose the right topic for my doctoral🎓 dissertation📜 research because this amazing man was the one who affirmed it more in the first place and has served as a driving force behind my continued studies!
Coach K won five by five! 🙌
Aside from Coach K’s coaching leadership on the court and in the locker room for both college andpro ball that I’ve observed and studied*, I’ve admired him for the following reasons in which I can relate:
He served our country🇺🇸, through the United States Army (I appreciate all of our veterans)
He also is a devout🙏 Catholic💒
What a way for this senior to wrap up his college ball career! 👊
I must update my dissertation introduction, in which I mentioned that Coach K has led his Duke Blue Devils to four NCAA titles🏆 –> I now can revise it to FIVE!!!
Also, my 😸Double A-Teammates😻 deserve credit as my good luck🍀 charms toward this championship because during most of the game when the Wisconsin Badgers led, I was working on school💻, and when I tuned in more during crunch and clutch time⏰, they joined me to cheer📢 on the young Devs that included majority freshmen in the starting line-up!
YES, my Snow Angels go for the Blue Devils!
Lastly, I wish to point out that the very first paper that I wrote for my doctoral coursework compared the coaching styles of Coach K and his West Point coach, Bobby Knight ~ I’m proud that I aced🃏 it back then and proud of this team this whole season and tonight! 🌠
For the love of the team and the love of the game! 💝

Almost two years ago exactly, I judged this Skills USA speech tournament, in which the students presented their interpretations of the word “champion.” What does it mean to you?
For me, a champion is someone who takes a winning approach to life, even in moments of defeat, one who still demonstrates good sportsmanship and holds her/his head up high without giving up. Last night, the NFC Champs won the “Big Game,” but the AFC Champs still are champions in my eyes because they still maintained a championship attitude. The heart of a champion does not feel like a loser even when it is beat.
This is what I aim to accomplish in my dissertation research and after I earn my Ph.D.: to show coaches that genuine leadership is based on developing their players into champions in life, not just in the game. I myself also am practicing this championship lifestyle by persisting along the way…
Before I get back to writing my study, I am about to go beast mode for energy. Speaking of which, here’s some comic relief that I posted on my friend’s Facebook last week:
My Buddy: How does a guy get man boobs?
Yours truly: By not working out their #pecs! #Dudes with #moobs must hit the #weights & work on their #BenchPress both #flat & on #incline for more #definition + try the #ChestFly… Go #BeastMode!
My Buddy: Thanks, Elaine. I’ll diet hardcore the next couple of weeks…
Yours truly: ¡El gusto es mío, mi amigo! I just sent ya an invite to the #BestWorkoutForMen #app for #iPhone which is the #male version of the 1 that I contribute to: #PrettyFit. Best wishes on the #diet but I hope you also add more #exercise into the #mix so that way you could #reward yourself w/a #YOLO (i.e., #PanDulce) every once in awhile…
Other winners in my life include my Double A-Team, Asia and Annie, who my good friend and spiritual mentor, Bishop Mike, has so graciously blessed during his leadership of the Diocese of San Angelo, before his retirement and the ordination of Bishop Sis one week ago. Here are A&A‘s and my heartfeltValentine’s greetings and their photo full of love:
