Just a few books in my library

Since a book rep visited my campus, I took full advantage by bringing my slew of books from which I studied in college and grad school or taught in undergrad courses.

On our first day of Religious Education, my Church Bestie, Evie, suggested that we wear Bible-inspired shirts.

Since then, I’ve been sporting a different one ever week (with the exception of last night when I featured George Strait with his ♥LOVE♥ is Everything shirt in both my speech and our RE class ~ I pointed out his nervousness before his final concert to my Public Speaking students then played ♪I Saw GOD Today♫ at Church).

Thirsty Thursday: Labor of LOVE for the LORD

In ♥ & Soul, Community, Higher Ed, Pro-DiSPO, Relationships, Thirsty Thursday, Weekly Wonders, Yours Truly on 09/04/2014 at 18:11

Happy Belated Labor Day!

Today’s Thirsty Thursday segment refers to doing GOD’s work, not Man’s.

Glorify GOD’s grace with our gifts.

My Church buddy, Joe, reminded me that through our ministry, we’re mainly here to serve GOD above all else ~ giving him our BEST.

Thanks to Joe, Evie and I’ve embarked on team teaching Religious Education!

Our endeavor can help prepare us for the Catholic school, but either way, we’ll be reaping our rewards to head closer to Heaven.

🎊Birthday🎉 & 🍎Back-to-School🍏!!!

Last week (or shall I say, two weeks before then to include three full weeks), I rang in my BiG 3-3 and prepared to teach in my hometown this fall ~ after over five years of teaching in South Texas. Therefore, I had to get a minor makeover!

First, Evie‘s mom Maggie cut and curled my hair (as seen with A&A).

Then Dee and I celebrated together, and she added to my wardrobe👗!

Don’t Dee & I look hot in our maxi dresses?

On my actual Bday, we curled our hair!

Speaking of Dee, don’t she, Lisa and I all look fabulous as the August Birthday Baby Beauties💁?

Love ’em like Sisters!

& of course, now that I’m exactly half my mom‘s age (she was my age when she gave birth to me), here’s an indicator of how I may look like when I’m double my age!

So-Called Snow Day

In Home Sweet Home, Workin' Woman on 02/03/2011 at 10:02

Yay, off Thursday & Friday! Cold fronts are spreading all over Stateside. While many parts up north are below freezing & @ negative temps, we’re still considering the 20s & 30s as a reason to close operations, including cancel classes, here in the Valley…
~ let it snow * let it snow * let it snow ~
Since I’m stranded @ home clear of furniture that’s already found way into my new humble abode, I should use this time to pack. Keeping in mind that I wasn’t gonna have a weekday off after MLK Day ’til Memorial Day, I’m grateful for these 2 off days. Today, I watched my daytime TV (i.e., talk shows like Ellen & Rachael Ray + GH & HIMYM re-runs), followed by primetime (i.e., GA & NBA), as well as cooked warm comfort food being creative w/the minimal ingredients that I still have left here. Asia & Annie the cats are content while we’re cooped up in the crib, but they already have been regardless.
~ Baby, it’s cold outside… * So nice & warm ~
