Thank GOD It’s Fall!
Facing east for the moon rise from my backyard garden … Just another West Texas Friday night!
As much as ☼summer☼ is my favorite season (after all, that’s when my birthday takes place), I’m making the most out of autumn ~ especially going outside for crisp, fresh air!
I’m also all about Starbucks seasonal flavors* ~ from ☼summer’s fruitiness to these comfy delights:
My venti cold cup always comes in handy … for a discount & a drink to last me all ☼day!
Apparently, I was my local barista’s 1st customer to order a Toasted Graham Frappuccino! #StarbucksLovers ♥ #trendsetter
Furthermore, football has kicked off into full swing!

Nine Fine Fall Flaves
1. Favorite Candle: my Bath & Body Works‘ Salty Caramel that I used to light up my *Dallas Cowboys* jack-o-lantern and Advent †cross† (I’m also all about BBW‘s Pumpkin Pecan Waffles/White Barn‘s Thanksgiving Morning)
2. Favorite Lip Color: toss-up between my red Ardency Inn ♥Love♥ Cat lipstick from Sephora or purple Vera Wang *Rockstar* lip gloss from ULTA (c/o my Bestie Evie)
3. Favorite Drink: please view above {Exhibits B-E}
4. Favorite Blush: the ones from my KleanKolor Double Rainbow palette, plus I think that I’ll try Dulce Candy‘s tip on lip colors in a pill box for cheek colors!
5. Favorite Clothing Item: my birthday gifts ~ specifically the scarf/shawl ~ and my recent online finds plus my Target scores ~ particularly the jeans and booties!
6. Favorite Fall Movie: no new releases, so I’ll go with classic football flicks: Varsity Blues (came out my sr. yr.), Friday Night Lights (with a cameo of my h.s.), Remember the Titans, Any Given Sunday, The Longest Yard (including the original)
7. Favorite Fall Show: Grey’s ♥Anatomy!!! I’ve been counting down for the Season 12 premiere since the Season 11 finale ~ as a loyal fan for over a decade since the very beginning with the previous seasons on DVD
8. Favorite Thanksgiving Food: I’m not going to lie –> my Cranberry Pie #DISPObustAFlow
9. Favorite Halloween Costume: now how about I have y’all pick? My personal faves include when I rocked out my abs live, No. 5 … I won our contest in 2013 as Lone Ranger‘s Tonto and in 2014 as my Nurse Mom who was fine in 1969! Will I make a 3-peat??

During my bday vacay last week, I visited a home that is among my fondest memories:

The highlight of my stay was when I sat in my Tita Fe‘s gourmet kitchen with Mami Aya, her siblings and their spouses ~ during which my MD aunts and uncles, who included
- Tita Fe & Tito Rudy (my mom’s oldest sister and her husband)
- Tito Robert & Tita Yollie (my mom’s youngest brother & his wife)
each endorsed me for my PhD ~ providing their sound advice that I’ll take with me as I progress toward my doctoral dissertation defense.

No, I’m NOT talking about arming ourselves with ammo ~ despite the recent open carry law in my state (that caused controversy and healthy debate among my ☼summer☼ speech students)
I don’t shoot at moving targets ~ simply for sport!
but I do mean business when it comes to our arms!
Since we’re baring more skin in the ☼summer☼ heat, we want to be eye candy, am I right?
Here are some moves to take your company to a gun show!
Arm Yourself in the Gun Show Scene with this Routine
[with bodyweight ~ shoot for 10 per set]
- Standard Pushups {wide grip for shoulders}
- Diamond Pushups {narrow grip for triceps}
[with weight resistance ~ 2-3×10-12 heavy or 2-3×15-60 light]
- Chest Flies {to firm up our pectorals to reduce unsightly armpit fat} ~ holding weights directly in front of your chest, push outward to your sides
- Shoulder Raises ~ holding weights at each shoulder, raise directly above your head
- Bicep Curls ~ holding weights at 45* facing you, curl toward you; I recommend variations from in front of you to your sides to create a “W”
- Tricep Press ~ holding weights at your side with arm hinged, press behind you
Bonus Baby Back
- Renegade Row ~ from plank with weight in one hand, bring up to chest level
- Lateral Pulldown ~ while seated at the bench, bring arms up to hanging bar with arms facing forward, pull down to chest level

I’ve always admired my parents‘ hard work, not just in their jobs, but also in how they maintain their home.
To this very day, almost three decades since we moved into their forever home, I still consider it as the nicest one on the block all year round.

Remember my student’s science fair project about ♫music♪ effect on plants?
Science Project Poster: an elementary eye candy version of the presentations that I teach and the research experiment that I’m conducting!
I still have his yellow hibiscus that went without ♪music♫ in the experiment.
Now that we’ve entered ♣spring♣, this hibiscus can soak in the ☼sunshine☼, bloom and blossom!
Today, we had a hail storm hit, but I didn’t have much notice to remove it …
Before … Will my hibiscus withhold this hail storm??
At least this fortunate flower’s still in tact in the aftermath of this April shower!
After … YES, indeed, she did survive without withering!!!
