I’ve always admired my parents‘ hard work, not just in their jobs, but also in how they maintain their home.
To this very day, almost three decades since we moved into their forever home, I still consider it as the nicest one on the block all year round.
Just part of my parents’ front yard on the southwest side
- My dad, who has a green thumb, takes pride in doing his own gardening.
- My mother, who decorates for every single holiday, decks the halls and the porches to welcome each season.
A brand-new addition to their spring blossoms: This pink flower is in full bloom!

Picking 🌿plants🌾 and harvesting 🌽crops🍅 take immense energy. 🛁Watering🚿 🌴trees🌲 and 🌳bushes🍃 also provides resistance. For instance,
✨ Lifting a pail focuses on the arms. 💪
🌟 🌵Trunk🎍 twists focus on the core.
💫 😸Cat chasing gives both you and your fine furry friend cardio! 😻
And my eldest aunt, who’s a Medical Doctor, swears by it too. In her 70s and still practicing medicine as a pediatrician, she stays healthy by ballroom dancing with my uncle and gardening!
