If you’ve ever watched Funny Face that starred Audrey Hepburn, then you’ll remember the opening scene when Quality magazine’s editor, Ms. Prescott made time to rhyme:
Perfect for the approaching Advent/CHRISTmas season: Pine cones outside my school‘s gazebo that I picked up after I taughtspeech today! (Fun fact: Last time I scored some was when I went snowboarding with my cousins at Lake Tahoe while I still lived in the Bay Area!)
Pine cones to ring in fall & sustain through the winter! Why buy this decor at the store when at work is where I score?
Look what the deer dragged in … Let’s not leave out black & gray + muted tones ~ looking rad in plaid this season: DOC the doe puts on a show with this Adam Lippes for Targetplaid sweater vest, my wardrobe’s *NEW* best (and prime photo backdrop for pink nail polish above)!
I beg to differ, Ms. Prescott, because I don’t discriminate against any color … Bring on ALL of the above this season, everyday and always, please!
Bottom line: Fashion rules don’t dictate our lives + we may have pieces in our collection that’ll stay timeless.
2 lessons that I teach & practice: (1) Visualization ~ Walking across the stage (2) Self-Fulfilling Prophecy ~ Taking the steps toward reaching this goal
Shift Dress (more forgiving / less flattering straight silhouette) in Coral (to suit my stylist Dr. Garza‘s taste): Spaghetti Strap Slip underneath Crocheted Lace Overlay * Skater Dress (more figure-framing A-line short skirt) in Mint (close enough to fulfill my Tiffany blue obsession): Strapless Slip layered under Sleeveless Scoopneck Sparkly Silver Lurex Fishnet
With last weekend being full of festivities, we were in great food and company! My LMT girl Lisa and her hubby hosted Fight Night (UFC main event: Anderson Silva post-2013 leg injury) on Super Bowl Sunday Eve! Then I watched the Big Game with my Papa Jun!
Fight Night Feast: {clockwise from top L} Little Caesar’s Pretzel Pizza from yours truly * fruit w/chocolate fondue made by yours truly (Nutella & Philadelphia Cream Cheese) * veggies w/Ranch dressing * slider sandwiches w/Dijon mustard, turkey & cheese (either Swiss or Munster)
Portion control: Lisa sliced the pizza into smaller pieces, so more could be up for grabs!
These slider sandwiches were a hit! Hands down: they scored a touchdown @ this table!
Fun fact: Did you know that you burn more calories than you consume when you munch on celery due to the crunch? Challenge accepted!
After the fruit was gone, a fellow cat mama & I turned to the carrots to dip into the chocolate!
To top off my plate, I had my green drink to toast!
Post-Fight: Rice Noodles w/meatballs ~ looks like this yummy bowl is Lisa‘s version of Pho!
Pre-Game: My Ramen w/Salsa + P.I. Cheese on Toast
Yes’sir, I AM the Ranch B*tch: from my salad to pizza (Supreme from the Hut)
Almond Joy Pie: filled w/Nutella but bittersweet due to the Seahawks’ SB loss
GOD’s Grace: Who knew that we’d score goodies on top of already being gifted with JESUS’ birth at Church?
Gift complete with scripture: Isaiah 9:5-6
Gingerbread: Twix Gingerbread was the shnap-shiz-nit of this candy collection from †Church†
Gifts of Goodies: ¡*Starbucks$ tote bag from mis Suegros!
MORE Score on Goodies: *Starbucks$ mugs from mis Suegros ring in the New Year with party food on holiday set-up {green bowl & red plate by Rachael Ray}
Goulash: Blackeyed Peas Stew complete with pandesal for New Year’s comfort meal
Greens: As in Green Drink/Shake/Smoothie ~ this 1 made from avocado & spinach … Koozie for dramatic effect (earned it in SA after a race — MAVS are still my No. 1 team)
