double-duty edibles ~ such as coconut oil to substitute fatty oils in recipes plus is my favorite hair conditioner and also moisturizes skin, as well as removes makeup (according to The Sweet Life)
handy healthy snacks (not fast food) ~ such as apples, grapes (I dig mine fresh or frozen), pears ~ the pear or apple crisp can trigger brain juice flow, don’t ya know #DISPObustAFlow
chill your coffee ~ since I don’t drink as much for heartburn prevention, I store the rest in the fridge until the next day
tote reusable containers ~ mine from Starbucks saves me 10-cents per use and conserves resources (great for my next craving, this flavor-of-the-day: the Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino to redeem my latest Gold Card Reward*)
My everything store is Target because it offers decent prices on clothing ~ including my designer collablimited editions ~ as well as home goods, some groceries, and is my personal fave place for gift registries
You too can check out these Target en Vogue** photos by scoring a copy and scanning with your Shazam app
Lately, my pleasure reading getaways have been simpler to prevent brain burnout (i.e., pictures for eye candy) ~ so no information overload in this rotation
stay fit as you suds up ~ stretch (with caution) as you reach for body parts to clean, and if you’re seated during a bath, I strongly suggest doing water pilates (think table top position with head and feet raised for resistance as you move)
No believer is ever too busy to †pray† ~ even if we can’t take a ½ hour or full hour to meditate, at least devote a few to several minutes or even †pray† before, during and/or after your activities (my Rosary begins my days, and playing the ♪song♫ jump-starts it!)
* Rewards = another way to $ave (discount$ & FREEbie$)
These guidelines will save you in the long one ~ not only for the aforementioned reasons, but also from embarrassment (i.e., killer breath, B.O.) if you run into someone later… We don’t want to be Finch from the American Pie movies who had to go home from school every time he had to release his macchiato! You’re welcome. ✌
The gold handle hardware matches up w/my gold wristlets complete w/satin polka dotted lining w/a large zipped pocket in the inside back + handy-dandy compartments to store keys, lipstick, etc. Carries well w/the adjustable crossbody & double snaps above zipper closure ~ what appealed to me the most initially was the bowling bag shape! This’d go great with the CK colorblock dress from my Nanay!
As I prepare for my potential promotion, I planned a new ensemble in light of our recent *Independence Day* and this ☼summer☼ season …
Nautical: * red * white * blue
White pants {EmmaAnkle} are suitable between *Memorial Day* & *Labor Day* + the red button down top made the cut {both by Liz Claiborne} topped with the navy blue & white 3/4-s cardi {by St. John’s Bay}
with the *stars* and =stripes=
Sterling silver sailor steering wheels & yellow gold anchors for my ears pair well with this *star* denim tote bag (also perfect for the beach) with tan braided handles {by Mossimo} for my portfolios
plus anchor and sailor steering wheel!
Apparently, my nautical inspiration extends beyond my outfit ~ after I set it out with accessories on ☼Sunday☼, I watched HGTV‘s Beach Flip premiere that also featured similar designs!
Now should I wear a * red * white or * blue handbag & shoes?
Scratch wearing the white slacks ~ late-breaking, thunder-breaking: we’re getting another storm in!
I read that in Rediscovering Catholicism, and this is a revelation that I’ve never considered before. I tend to plan, as I’ve pointed out in Beauty Tuesday: My AM Routine, at least a week in advance and even as far back as a month ahead of time. However, I’ve tried to let go and go with the flow…
Meanwhile, I must share my IT bag for Spring: this white vachetta Guess? handbag with studded handles and rose gold hardware ~ the bow and heart charms won me over when I first spotted it out at Dillard’s (my mom’s favorite store) at the end of January.
Two decades ago when I was in junior high, Guess? (which was established the same year I was born) was all the rage: think Wayne’s World featuring Claudia Schiffer {sha-wing}; I wore Guess? everything, not just limited to jeans: bags, shoes, even my suede jacket!]
Since I felt triumphant for reaching my most recent milestone for my dissertation, I convinced my mom to reward me with it, so this tote is special because it symbolizes my progress.
The color makes this pick very versatile for any outfit…
Plus, I have an array of accessories to mix and match with it, from rose gold jewelry, to bow and hearts.
My new purse will be sweet to bring to church with me on Easter Sunday, and I actually debuted it at the Adoration Chapel, where I brought the Oblate Missions prayer book from my mom, the Lady of Manaoag prayer book from J-Rob’s mom, Rediscover Catholicism, and my ministry workbook.
While I have my Easter ensemble ready to wear, I have other ideas on this most glorious of days of the year (with CHRISTmas being the most joyous ~ if you know the Rosary Mysteries, you’ll have an idea of what I mean). Bright colors and fun prints to commemorate this beautiful season is definitely the way to go, such as the pastel paisley patterns from these dresses that I bought in México before I moved.
Easter Idea {turquoise/multi-colored paisley beaded dress from México, floppy straw hat w/pink flowers from H&M in LV, straw sandals w/pastel acrylics from Hallmark}
Happy †Easter☼ ♥Asia & Me {black cross & beaded earrings & necklace set + purple embroidered shawl + blue/multi-colored paisley beaded dress from México}
Meanwhile, here was my look for Palm Sunday, when I was the lector for Mass in the longest reading of my church ministry: olive green to represent the Mount of Olives.
Welcome/Mabuhay/¡Biénvenidos! I am a USAF brat who was born in Germany and grew up State-side while celebrating my Catholic and Filipino heritage. ☼Sunny☼ DISPOsition Elaine’s Eye Candy/DISPhotos ~ I love GOD & His creations, so I take photos @ any given opportunity.
