Not only must I keep up with myself, I have to make sure that I take care of my little ones at home!

Aside from regular medical maintenance

I also keep up with A&A‘s grooming

  • bathing / showering
  • brushing and wiping

IMG_9093Since I taught in South Texas away from my Double A-Team last ☼summer☼, I returned to three hairballs from Sweet Annie

And I finally was able to remove her last one last month!

The key to my Pretty Kitties‘ beauty is

to make this a fun, rewarding and purrfect experience for them

IMG_9082 IMG_9083 IMG_9084 IMG_9085IMG_9086 IMG_9087IMG_9103… even if they’re led into a wild mouse chase (almost literally)!

Now that they’ve burned calories to consume calories: time for catnip!

El Tigre

This Ocelot has green eyes like Sweet Annie! I purchased this painting from my former student/massage therapist‘s studio en el Valle!

Floral Friday: Shower with Love

April Showers☔️ bring:

MORE May Showers! ⚡️

  • AND May Flowers! 🌼

My dad grows beautiful blossoms🌸 in his 🌳garden. Now they’re in full 🌺bloom. This is great timing⏰ with my mom’s 🎈celebrations🎁 this month.

After Mother’s Day, Mami Aya asked Papa Jun not to give her anymore 🌹roses. She meant flowers in general, but since she wasn’t clear…

He gave her calla lillies for her birthday! 🌻

While my Nanay appreciated his always kind gestures, she passed along the bouquet💐 to someone more deserving …

Beauty Tuesday: Spring & Summer Skin Safety

In Beauty Tuesday, Weekly Wonders on 05/07/2014 at 01:50

Happy National Nurses Day and Week plus Teacher Appreciation Week!

With spring in full swing and summer on the way, I have these two tips for this Beauty Tuesday on: how to make (not cake) your face after lack of sleep ~ like what some of us teachers experience ~ and protection to beat spring showers and the summer heat …

I brush on this Neutrogena bronzing powder around my face and concealer under my eyes.

As a teacher, I’ve stayed up late creating assignments and grading on many nights, and as a graduate student, I’ve burned the midnight oil studying and writing research papers (now on my final one for my Ph.D.: the dissertation). That being said, I must combat the dark circles under my eyes, and what better new way for me to do that than this Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF 25 that not only conceals the puffiness but also postpones the aging process. Over the concealer (and sometimes sheer foundation during these hotter seasons), I can dust this Neutrogena SkinClearing Mineral Powder for a light finish. For more of my favorite Neutrogena and other cosmetic and skin care products, please check out my Beauty Tuesday debut.

I apply these sweet-smelling oils and lotions from the Philippines to protect myself from bug bites.

With mosquitoes and the like swarming around, especially in the aftermath of storms, we must prevent ourselves from unwanted pests who feast on our flesh.

SPF

No beach bag is complete without sunscreen, like these sunblock sprays and suntan lotion.

☼Sunshine☼ is sublime, and we can get our share of Vitamin D, but to reduce the risk of skin cancer, we need the SPF, as well as limited time under the sun.

Now look and feel your best this season, whether you Train in the Rain or have ☼Fun in the Sun☼ ~ yep, I’m a poet & don’t know it!
