Beauty Tuesday: May My Teeth Be Merry and Bright

Happy Big Day to yours truly!

The time has arrived: I’m defending my dissertation this afternoon after my anticipated blessing from Bishop Mike.

While it’s still surreal until I actually achieve this vision, I’ve planned everything in advance down to the details of my appearance …

After all: fail to plan, plan to fail ~ to no avail!

• I prepared what to wear several months ago: dress, check√ * jewelry, more jewelry and accessories, check√ * shoes, check√ (something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue)
• I started practicing my presentation a couple of months ago … as well as my makeup and hair style (beauty rehearsal)
• I wrote my pre-defense prayer and post-defense acknowledgements over a month ago (vows)
• I got fresh spa treatment with nails done and brows shaped the weekend before (pampering)
• I started more extensive over-the-counter teeth whitening treatments the week prior (necessity)

That way, my smile will glow, and the coffee stains won’t show! =D

Childhood Examples

• behaving all year long –> CHRISTmas gifts from “Santa”
• pulling out your baby teeth –> chunk change from the “Tooth Fairy”
• asking “Trick or Treat?” politely –> candy and other goodies (such as Bible verses or prayer cards)
• reading x# of pages or books –> “Book It” (now “Accelerated Reader”) points and prizes ~ like a personal pan pizza from the Hut

Lately, rewarding myself helps ease the toughness of a rigorous project!

Adult Examples

• with my wider budget: *Dallas Cowboys* games toward the end of the season after the fall semester
• with my now tighter budget: books and video ~ which I planned to read and watch after I advance

Feline Friday: February = National Pet Dental Health Month

Flashback Friday: *ASIA* back ‘n ’09 as always lookin’ fine before we added *ANNIE* to this fam of felines!

Don’t we pet parents want our fun, fine, furry, all-weather friends to have overall good health? That includes our animals’ smile ~ good dental hygiene can prevent long-term adverse health effects. We can’t just chill on their grill!

Bright-eyed & Bushy-Tailed: Sweet *ANNIE* willing to help put up groceries while BiG SiS *ASIA* hangs on the fridge ^_including aforementioned throwback_^

Every week, I give my felines fluoride treatment to prevent plaque. Plus, they have their toothbrushes, toothpaste and dental treats. Yesterday, I took my little one to her appointment.

After Annie‘s surgery, she savored her ice cubes to consume water slowly.

My cats have flouride every ☼Sunday☼ and Oravet every Thursday

She has her course of antibiotics, along with her and Big Sis Asia‘s regular dental care!

Annie has a pawsitive attitude!

Following her operation, I’ve monitored her closely.

I reward Annie at the window for being a good sport with Peter Cottontail the Tooth Bunny!

At least today was yet another snow day, so I could stay home to make sure that my snow cat‘s A-OK!

Annie the Fancy Feline is ready to dine!

Today also was Meatless Friday, so she had a special meal!

The purrfect moment: sipping on her soup!

For the first time since her surgery, I felt and heard her purr!

Yes, I practice good dental hygiene by brushing and flossing regularly between meals, plus having my professional cleaning every six months, but

Coffee stains are evident, including in recent photos from the Sweetheart Ball, yikes!!!

With the abundant goodies that we consume during the HOLYdays, not only must we maintain our shape by minimizing our intake and eating in moderation, but we must take care of our teeth as well!

Of course, I dig on the floss picks whenever I’m on-the-go, plus my dad and sis recommended these mini reusable brushes between meals when we’re not at home with our full toothbrushes.

SMILE with those Pearly Whites! =D

Whitening and brightening your teeth to keep your smile clean and prestine! My personal preference is Crest White Strips, which made a difference in just ONE hour!

And remember: DON’T pull a HIMYM Marshmallow-Lily Pad by sharing a toothbrush … Just like Friends‘ Joey doesn’t share food, toothbrushes are meant to be owned by yourself only! DON’T pull a Friends‘ Ross either & go dramatically glow-in-the-dark white!
