R.I.P.✌ all of the fatalities in today’s Oregon community college massacre.
Those who were shot and killed are modern-day martyrs.
While we live in a nation where we have the freedom to express ourselves (First Amendment) ~ including through our religion, we unfortunately may encounter those who express their animosity against our beliefs.
C is for …
CHRIST * Character * Confidence
F is for …
Faith * Football * Field of Life
G is for …
Guts * Grace * Glory
In Jim Grassi‘s Guts Grace & Glory, connections are made between the football field and Christianity. Dr. Grassi, who has worked with pro football players in my beloved Bay Area, makes athletes’ testimonies and scripture readings relevant with the game and our overall moral conduct as a whole…

Besides the textbook from which which I teach, I also refer to supplementary sources for my speech students! While I still separate religion from education in the public school system, I tie in certain codes of conduct practiced when relevant.
This leads me to pursuing my legacy, even at my age, because we never know whether we’ll still be here tomorrow ~ so
How will you be spiritually when you meet your maker?

Generosity with ☝️GOD’s🙏 💝gifts🎁
Time * Talent * Treasure
- Volunteering our time⏰ and treasure to serving our Church💒 (mine is through ministry and teaching ~ photos below are of the Oblate Missions River Rocks that I brought back for my students)

- Donating our treasure (i.e., money💸) through tithing💰

The Key to Happiness:
*STEWARDSHIP*
We can never give enough, so let’s start with gratitude and go on with a generous attitude!
Live for the sake of worship to serve those in need, rather than for the world to serve our own greed!
So far, our first two signs of Dynamic Catholicism have been:
- Prayer
- Study
Last but not least, we’ll explore the sign of:

†The Prayer Way† wraps up with Supplication, for others, and ourselves.

When we or others who we know about are in need, we petition prayers for GOD to grant those requests. At our Advent Penance last week, I confessed to the priest about my admitted resentment toward my mother and my sorrow for feeling like I’m breaking the 4th Commandment. He advised me to accept our own and others’ weaknesses and appreciate that I still have my mother around. Therefore, I continue to give gratitude for my blessings and pray for ~ as well as help ~ those less fortunate, especially those who have experienced loss of loved ones, as well as remind myself that CHRIST JESUS had to bear His Cross and endure torture. We maintain our faith and ♥love♥ in Him to lead us along His righteous path toward Heaven.

In †GOD† we trust …
Here are the rest of our ACTs to practice everyday as we pray …
Our Lady of Guadalupe (who we celebrate mañana)

O Most Pure Lady of Guadalupe, obtain for me from your divine Son the forgiveness of my sins, blessings on my work, healing of my illnesses and needs, and everything that you believe is best for me and for my family. O Blessed Mother of †GOD†! Do not despise our supplications, but instead, free us from all danger. O Lady full of glory and of blessings, we ask all these things through †CHRIST JESUS† Our †LORD†. Amen.

†The Prayer Way† continues with Contrition

“May the †LORD† be in your ♥heart♥ and help you to confess your sins with true sorrow.” ~ Rite of Penance
There are times in our lives when we make mistakes that we may regret and repent, or we at least learn from them and don’t repeat them anymore. When we have a conscience for venial sins (non-mortal sins ~ meaning that they don’t kill our spirit and keep us from †GOD†), then we confess them and reflect on how to redeem ourselves. Yesterday, my childhood Church had a Penance service in which we confessed to our priests from our local Catholic parishes.
Act of Contrition
O my †GOD†, I am heartily sorry for having offended You. I detest all my sins because of Your just punishments, but most of all because they offend You, my †GOD†, who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life. Amen.
Check out our other ways to pray…

For me personally, I’ve admittedly broken some of the Commandments, so I’m confessing having committed those sins, preventing myself from breaking them again and making peace as I approach a more holy life. As we enter Advent season and prepare for Baby JESUS’ birth, I encourage my fellow believers to this CHRISTmas Challenge of daily devotions and good deeds: Random Acts of CHRISTmas Kindness (RACK).
CHEERS to this time of year, as JESUS’ birth is very near ~ NO worry about presents, for His presence that we need indeed is here!

BAE stands for…
Before Anyone Else.

My Public Speaking students schooled me on this term last week, as we went over figurative words, including abbreviations and acronyms. At first, I thought that it was an abbreviation because they told me that it was an alternative to baby or babe, but then they told me that it is short for the above; hence it indeed is an acronym… I, in turn, declared that nobody has called me that or put me before anyone else, yet I have the same BAE everyday:

☼Beautiful Bright Breezy Day☼ †THANKS to GOD† whose ♥LOVE♥ shines from HEAVEN above
He comes first and foremost in my life, in everything that I do. Thanks to Him, I have been blessed beyond measure. Just yesterday, I found out the wonderful news that I’ve been waiting for:
My doctoral dissertation has been approved by my school’s research board!

Bishop Mike’s beautiful †cross† from his Holy Pilgrimage to Bethlehem
Since my classmate who graduated last year consulted with me, his words have resonated in my mind, that my own Ph.D. will happen…
in GOD‘s time.

Considering that
GOD is my #1

I must LOVE and serve him ~ practice what I preach to my own Religious Education students, like through these lessons.

Today, my good sister in CHRIST and I visited our loved ones’ resting places. Here is the prayer from my book that we said for them.

Their special spots are in beautiful memorial gardens.

One of them has his birthday today, so we celebrated Mass for him this morning.

Praying for Peace ✌

Sacred Heart of JESUS (my tapestry)
Thirteen years since the traumatic, tragic terrorist attack that struck our entire nation, we still have wars around the world.

Created in GOD’s Image (Tita Mel’s cross-stitching)
At the Adoration Chapel this morning, I prayed for the souls of the victims on that fateful day in 2001 and the recent ISIS incidents.

As a deer longs for flowing streams… ~ Psalm 42 (family painting)
GOD bless the public servants and military service men and women whose selfless sacrifice for our country have helped us endure freedom.

I am with you always. ~ Matthew 28:20 (Natalia‘s collection)
We may never be able to bring back those lives who were lost, but we have come together more closely as a united front since then.

Happy Belated Labor Day!

Today’s Thirsty Thursday segment refers to doing GOD’s work, not Man’s.

Glorify GOD’s grace with our gifts.

My Church buddy, Joe, reminded me that through our ministry, we’re mainly here to serve GOD above all else ~ giving him our BEST.

Thanks to Joe, Evie and I’ve embarked on team teaching Religious Education!
Our endeavor can help prepare us for the Catholic school, but either way, we’ll be reaping our rewards to head closer to Heaven.
