When they mentioned my need for “me” time at my graduation luncheon, I doubted that I could pull it off. However, I indeed observed how refreshed some of my fellow doc candidates-turned graduates seemed following their dissertation defenses ~ a break to decompress helped them relieve stress!

• 3½ ☼days☼ last week between Graduation and CHRISTmas
• +3½ ☼days☼ this week between CHRISTmas and mid-week
• = 7  ☼days☼ total (not consecutive ~ but I’ve made it count)

My favorite activities during this Dr. D time:

• concocting recipes
• QT with my Cuties

• my hardworking heroic father from the *United States Air Force* while approaching the retirement of his post-military career in aviation
• my Great-Uncle Terry from the *U.S. Navy* before he reaches nine decades of life
• my *Airman* cousin Jeryl who’s safely and soundly back Stateside from his deployment
• my Bro Ryan from the *United States Marine Corps* who now is expecting my first niece/nephew with my sis and attending MBA school
• my *Airman* brother-in-law Eric in his second tour in the ROK
• my many friends who’ve served the great *US of A*

This also is a special Veterans’ Day as I passed my full faculty defense according to GOD’s perfect plan!

While our military heroes engage in rigorous physical training, with PT tests that time:

• 1½-mi. runs
• ### push-ups
• ### sit-ups

I did my share of high impact activity to prepare my energy for this AM’s event …

Just like I’ve connected almonds with energy for my full marathon as an analogy for my multiple regression statistical analyses, I’ve tied in what worked for me on the days I passed my previous rounds:

• I hit the track after my Holy Hour at our ♥Adoration♥ †Chapel† right before my committee conference call
• I’ve done more HIITs and toning up to ease my test anxiety up until today’s full faculty meeting

Here’s my training session from yesterday to work both the lower and upper bod:

2 for Tuesday: Double Whammy beyond the Moons on my Hammy

Simultaneous Moves for 20 reps/set with body weight or light resistance (ankle or wrist wraps, dumb bells or bands)

• Squats (legs) & Shoulder Raises (delts and traps)
• T-Bird Dead Lifts (booty) & Rows (back)
• Extensions 2 Ways ~ Standing (quads) & Overhead (tris)
• Curls 2 Ways ~ Standing (hams) & Upward (bis)
• Trunk Twist (core) Curtsy Lunges (legs)
• Ab-duction (inner thighs & waistline)

CHEERS to ALL of our service men and women in uniform who’ve

• fought for our freedom, both in the States and overseas
• bled for our country, earning themselves the Purple Heart
• died for those freedoms, earning themselves the Flag

 as well as ALL of our military families who experience the sacrifice.

As I aim to reach my terminal degree🎓 🏁finish line, what more will be in store?

I’ve even already set out what I’m wearing👗 that day! 📊

When I was recommending 👔suitable “Dress to Impress for Success” wear 👊🏽 to my students for their mock 💼interviews, I actually received this timely article (that included a Clueless 👛cameo) written that same week that also somehow inspired my ☼summer☼ theme! ⚓️

Working Woman’s Wednesday: GOD’s Work

No matter what job we hold, as long as we are doing GOD‘s work, we truly are serving our ultimate purpose.

So why complain?

Bishop Mike pointed this out to me during my visit with him four weeks ago.

As we approach Easter, we celebrate the most ♥loving♥ gesture of †JESUS CHRIST†, who kept going, knowing that his hardships were well worth it.

Therefore, I am taking off from anything career-related out of respect for our Savior in his most selfless sacrifice.

Our LORD rested upon creating goodness, so we ought to follow in His and His son’s examples ~ as well as Joseph, his earthly father and Patron Saint of Workers.

Meanwhile, I’ll reflect on the rewards that I’ve reaped from my professional pursuits:

Becca‘s No-Bake Strawberry Cheesecake (adopted from Martha Stewart Recipe ~ added honey)

• Yesterday, I wrapped up one year of photographing at the hospitals by training my newbie who I interviewed and selected last month to replace me in order to devote more time to my dissertation (on my way to my doctoral degree in 2015) ~ she always smiles and has a sparkling personality, is eager to learn, so I bear confidence that she’s the perfect fit

My new photographer also was fond of these cookies from our hospital bakery: PB * Chocolate Chip * White Chocolate Macadamia Nut

• Recently, my college students presented their informative speech, in which they demonstrated a process, and I was impressed by their work

• 

  No-Bake Strawberry Cheesecake Demo Speech ~ complete with ingredients!

* An added bonus is that one of my students not only played in last football postseason’s state championship, but he also is delivering a speech as valedictorian (I’ve been proud to have other valedictorians in the past) at their graduation (I also have another from last ☼summer☼ who will speak at her graduation as the student body president)

I couldn’t resist digging in instead of making it keep looking picture perfect! It was perfectly delicious!

Moral of this story: I feel blessed to be surrounded by hard workers!

I was about to have a mini slice of Heaven, but ended up taking more out of my dream pie!

Day 23: I’m THANKful for my ☀️Sunshine, who’s been taking me from Point A to Point B➡️ for exactly 41 months today! As Toby Keith sings in “I Love This Bar”: “I Like My Truck,” I actually LOVE my truck, as GOD✌️ has always blessed us on our merry way!

Day 24: I’m THANKful for my sister, Joanne Dispo, MSN, PMHNP, whose birthday is today! She’s one of the most generous & thoughtful people who I know, so may GOD bless her always ♥ Lola Rosa used to tell me: “You’re only 2,” meaning she’s the only blood sister who I have & to make the most of my time w/her…

I’m also THANKful for my fellow #USAF #MilitaryBrats Birthday Boys Davon Curry &Victor Rodriguez, who both have special places in my heart ♥ DBo & I used to write ol’ school letters when he was stationed out-of-state back in h.s. before social media was around + still inspires me to go #BeastMode to this very day! Vic was stationed in Germany where I was born, was kind to escort me to Winter Formal once, attended our Cooper High 10-yr reunion although he graduated elsewhere & hit a couple of #DallasMavericks games w/me!
